South End Historical Society

For 47 years, the South End Historical Society has worked to promote the rich history of the South End and to preserve its architectural integrity through advocacy, education and documentation. The SEHS holds two major fundraisers every year— the South End House Tour and the Spring Ball- and presents lectures and walking tours about the South End’s unique social and architectural history. The SEHS also encourages research, conservation, and education to promote interest in our historic neighborhood. The South End Historical Society is one of the primary contributors to the preservation of the South End’s architectural fabric. Through the efforts of the Society, the South End was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the largest Victorian brick rowhouse district in the United States.
